Iglasjöns Badplats
Bathing place at lake Iglasjön
The bathing place Iglasjöns Badplats is located on the eastern shore of the remote lake Iglasjön in the west of Torsås Kommun. Nearby is the very small settlement of Skärgöl, and the next larger town of Torsås is about 16 kilometres away.
With a size of eight hectares, the lake Iglasjön is one of the largest lakes in the municipality of Torsås. It is 1.5 metres deep on average, and 2.5 metres at its deepest point. The bathing place has an idyllic location and does not offer a long sandy beach, but a cosy lawn for sunbathing between birch trees directly in the forest.
A long bathing jetty gives you direct access to deeper water. A barrier-free dry toilet, several benches and a large barbecue area complete your day at the lake.
With a bit of luck, you can observe various seabirds that like to spend time around Lake Iglasjön. These include mallards (Anas platyrhynchos), Eurasian teals (Anas crecca), common goldeneyes (Bucephala clangula), grey herons (Ardea cinerea), black-throated divers (Gavia arctica) and common sandpipers (Actitis hypoleucos).
