MX World Collection
Large motocross museum in Vimmerby
The motocross museum MX World Collection on the outskirts of Vimmerby is one of the largest, if not the largest museum of its kind in Europe with around 300 motocross bikes.
In the immediate vicinity of the popular theme park Astrid Lindgrens Värld, MX World Collection presents a unique collection of motocross bikes from more than eight decades on two floors and 1,400 square meters of exhibition space.
On the ground floor are standard cross-motorcycles from the period from 1958 to the present on display. Among them is an extensive exhibition of about 70 machines of the Huskvarna brand, with which the museum's founder Magnus Frodig began his collection. The oldest machine in the Huskvarna collection is a SW30 from 1929, while an "Ariel" from 1927 is the oldest veteran in the museum.
On the ground floor also the competition outfits and the biographies of well-known cross riders are presented. Upstairs, in addition to a small collection of speedway motorcycles, there are a number of factory and competition machines famous drivers participated in World Championship races with.
The museum is wheelchair accessible and has a lift to the upper floor. On the ground floor of the museum there is a café, which also offers a breakfast buffet and hot daily specials. Access is possible independently from visiting the museum.
