Vejbystrand
Coastal town north-west of Ängelholm
The village Vejbystrand is located on the east coast of the peninsula Bjärre in the far northwest of the municipality of Ängelholm.
With approximately 2,500 inhabitants is Vejbystrand the third largest town in the municipality Ängelholm, and a small part belongs to the neighboring municipality Båstad.
Vejbystrand was a small fishing village until the 19th century and only through the connection to the railway network and the small station in Vejbyslätt the place experienced a certain boom. The small port of the village was built in 19330–34 and the construction of the well known Coastal Sanatorium KVS in 1903 made for another boost.
Today Vejbystrand is an ordinary town with predominantly single-family homes and because of the beautiful sandy beach you will find numerous holiday cottages. For the small things of everyday use there is a grocery store, a pizzeria and a few restaurants at the harbor.
