Ebbamåla Bruk
Industrial museum in Hovmansbygd
The award-winning industrial museum Ebbamåla Bruk is a former iron foundry from the 19th century. It is located in the small hamlet of Hovmansbygd near Ebbamåla on the river Mörrumsån, about seven kilometres east of Kyrkhult in the municipality of Olofströms Kommun.
The museum consists of a fully equipped historical industrial plant with a functioning foundry. On a guided tour you will experience the Industrial Revolution as it happened at Ebbamåla Bruk from 1860 onwards. You cannot explore the museum on your own. However, tours take place from June to October – see the official website for more information.
In addition to the museum, Ebbamåla Bruk also has a café where you can enjoy your coffee and cake right on the banks of the Mörrumsån. In the shop you will also find iron and bronze objects made on site. You even have the option of spending your nights in a holiday flat in Ebbamåla Bruk in the historical industrial complex.
The surroundings of Ebbamåla Bruk also invite you to go hiking. Only a few hundred metres south begins the nature reserve Käringahejans Naturreservat, which protects a 4.5-kilometre stretch of the Mörrumsån. Running parallel to the river is the Barnvallsleden, a former railway embankment that has been converted into a cycling and hiking trail.
