Klostret i Ystad
Medieval monastery in Ystad
The monastery in Ystad was founded in 1267 and is one of the best preserved monasteries in Sweden. After the north and west wings were demolished in 1600, the former Franciscan monastery only consists of the east wing and the monastery church Sankt Petri today. The site is surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens and also houses the museum of cultural history of Ystad.
