Sankt Hans Backar
Park in Lund
Sankt Hans Backar is located at the northern edge of the university town Lund. With 28-hectare, it is its largest park and impresses with a hill/valley landscape.
From the highest point of Sankt Hans Backar, an 86-meter-high hill, you have a wonderful view over the city and the surrounding countryside to Malmö and the Öresund. When the weather is clear, you can even see Copenhagen in the distance.
The park consists of approximately equal parts of large open lawns, as well as areas with trees and dense bushes. There are also several routes through the hilly terrain with different degrees of difficulty for walkers and runners.
The lawns and barbecue areas are used for picnics as well as for all kinds of ball games. A high-class disc golf course with 18 lanes is available to park visitors and is also used for official competitions.
Separate riding trails are used by equestrians and in winter the large hill becomes the most popular sledding hill in Lund.
