Skede Badplats
Bathing spot by the river Solgenån in Skede
The small bathing place Skede Badplats, also known as Badplats Solgenån, is located on the eastern bank of the small river Solgenån in the middle of the village Skede in the northwestern part of the municipality Vetlanda Kommun.
Skede Badplats borders directly on the grounds of the farmhouse museum Skede Hembygsdgård and is situated on a 25-metre-wide stretch of the fairly calm-flowing Solgenån. The bathing area consists of an approximately 80-metre-long grassy beach with a narrow strip of sand directly on the shore and a sandy river bottom.
The equipment at Skede Badplats consists of a floating bathing jetty that extends to the middle of the river. There is a toilet, a barbecue area, a bench and a table. A few metres from the shore is a row of full-grown birch trees, which provide a shady spot if needed, but are far enough away so that the shore is sunlit.
