Kommendanthuset

Former armory in Malmö

The Kommendanthuset in Malmö was built in 1786 as an arsenal of the fortress Malmöhus. Weapons and military equipment were formerly stored here.

The building is located northwest of Malmöhus Slott. Typical of the former military architecture, the Kommendanthuset was built in classicist style. The red-painted facade of the two-storey building is fully plastered and the roof is covered with copper plates. At the ground floor, you can find a small ecologically café.
